Changing our PerspectivePart 1: A New Thermodynamics   

 

 This book is Part 1 of this series with Part 2 to follow hopefully sometime in the near future (see below)  “Changing our perspective Part 1: A new thermodynamics”of presents a completely new thermodynamic perspective, one that no longer relies upon either entropy, or the second law. Herein, we clearly demonstrate that although empirical data can disprove a given theory, it certainly does not necessarily prove any one theory, i.e. there is often more than one theory that can explain a given set of empirically known results.   

 

"Changing our perspective Part 1: A new thermodynamics” is a continuation of the revolutionary ideas presented by this author, in his several controversial peer reviewed papers. Importantly, a series of simple arguments are strung together enlightening the reader to the possibility that traditional thermodynamics has complicated what should have been, and certainly will become a simple constructive science that the majority can actually envision, comprehend, and then explain.   

 

This is not just a tweaking of the science as is done by countless other texts. It is a radical overhaul providing new insights into latent heat, lost work, kinetic theory, heat capacity, Joule’s experiment, thermal radiation, Henry’s law and the Clausius-Clapeyron equation. And the list just scratches the surface. Accordingly, it will be up to you to decide whether you prefer the overly complex traditional conceptualizations, or a simple eloquent science. I.e. you will be asked to apply the principles of Occam’s razor.     

 

All in all, this book is very insightful; bringing a whole new perspective that can be understood by most who have a scientific and/or engineering background. Importantly, this book will shock you, making you question your indoctrination in a science that you previously wrongfully believed to be mature and unrelenting.

      Changing our Perspective  Part 2: Tensile Surfaces and Nucleation  

 

   There is a Part 2 to this series, which was actually written  before Part 1 was fully developed. Part 2  as the title implies deals with tensile surfaces and nucleation theory. Subjects covered include shapes of tensile forces, capillary rise & fall, bubbles, cavitation, droplets and decompression illness, amongst other things. Part 2 was actually written before Part 1, however in order for me to be right in Part 2 then I had to figure out what was wrong with tradiational thermodynamics, that being Part 1. Accordingly, Part 1 is the first to come out in this series.    

 

   As is the case for Part 1, Part 2 is equally revolutionary in its ideas. Once again this author does not simply rehash traditional concepts, rather he turns the science on its head, starting with the simple consideration that cohesive forces along a tensile surface that rae directed into a liquid cannot simply be ignored as is tradiationally done. From there nucleation theory is revisted, starting with globules followed by bubbles, cavitation and then droplets. The book then goes on to what started this author on this bizarre, exhausting, journey that being the formation of bubbles in the human anatomy, specifically decompression illness (DCI).
